What is a CDL?
A CDL is a commercial driver's license, a special license that is required of all commercial drivers.  Truck driving schools provide the training necessary to successfully pass the Ohio CDL test, which is given at approved testing facilities throughout the state.

Is truck driving required in Ohio in order to obtain a CDL?
Currently there are no state-mandated requirements for truck driving school or formal instruction and training; however, it is highly recommended you attend an accredited training program so you can get all the information and training you need to successfully pass the test.  Otherwise, you may not pass and receive your CDL.

What kind of industries would I be driving for in Ohio?

There are some federal mandates that must be met:

 - Be at least 21 years old (to cross state lines while driving).
 - Be able to speak, read, and write in English well enough to converse with the general public.
- Have a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside and will be applying for a CDL.
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
